TAACCCT National Evaluation (2012-2020) - Part 1

About

The Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) program was a $1.9 billion initiative, with 256 grants awarded to institutions of higher education (mainly community colleges) to build their capacity to provide workforce education and training programs. TAACCCT was comprised of four rounds of grants that the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) administered from 2011 to 2018.

The reports here describe findings from the national evaluation of the first three rounds. Future reports will describe findings of the last round.

The implementation reports are based on a survey sent to all colleges that participated in the grants, as well as site visits to a select number of colleges each of the rounds. The reports address key implementation issues, such as strategies to better connect and integrate education and workforce systems, plans to address employer needs, and approaches to transform training programs and services so that community colleges can deliver better education and training to adult learners.

The Urban Institute, Abt Associates, and their partners prepared the reports for USDOL’s Chief Evaluation Office.

Findings from the TAACCCT reports can help practitioners, policymakers, and others in their efforts to improve how community colleges develop career pathways and serve adult learners.
